Your public pages are visible to anyone over the internet, so you want to be careful to only post pictures and information that are appropriate for public consumption.
Set the Subdomain for Your Public Site
You can define a custom location for your public web site, such as http://troop-123.trooptrack.com. Doing so will make it easier for your troop or pack members to remember where the public site is, and non-members will be able to find it to learn more about your scouting program.
A "subdomain" is a web site that is part of another web site. Take http://troop-123.trooptrack.com/ for example. The subdomain in this case is troop-123. You can choose anything you want for your subdomain, as long as it follows these simple rules:
- It cannot contain any spaces, commas, exclamation points or other characters that are not letters, dashes, or underscores.
- It has to be unique - if your pack number is 555 and someone else has already snagged pack555.trooptrack.com, then you'll have to try something else, like pack-555.trooptrack.com.
To set your subdomain, click the gear icon, > Edit Troop Settings> , Webmaster Tools tab and enter your subdomain as shown below.

What about Private Pages?
You don't have to do anything special to set up private pages. They are only visible to logged in members of your scouting unit by visiting the Share badge.
Editing a Web Page
When you visit one of your web pages, whether they are public or private, you will see a screen like this:

You can add a new page by clicking "Add Child Page", or you can edit this page by clicking "Edit". Either way, the form for editing a web page looks like this:

Set the title of your page, edit its contents and format it using the formatting tools, and save it. Ta-day! You have created a web page.
Add a photo to your public or private pages
To add a photo on the public or private pages, click the photo icon in the editing toolbar. Here, there are two ways to add a photo.
- The first is to Upload a photo from you local hard-drive. To do this, click the Upload tab in the pop-up, click Choose File, and find the file on your computer. Next, click "Send it to the Server." This should take you back to the Image Info tab, where you can see a preview of the photo.
- Option two is to find the URL of a photo that is already on the web. This includes photos that you already have uploaded to TroopTrack. You can see your TroopTrack photo's URL by going to Share-->Photo Albums. Here, select the desired album, and then find the desired photo. Under the photo, click the "details" link. This will take you to a page with different sizes of that photo, with a URL under each one. Copy the URL you want, and you're good to go. Once you have the URL of the photo you want, return to the page you're editing, and click the photo option in the editor's toolbar, and paste the URL right in the "URL" box on the "Image Info" tab.
Now, after doing either of those two options, your photo is ready to be posted. You can change it's size in the "Width" and "Height" boxes to suit your fancy. You can always click the photo afterwards while editing the page to return to this editing box.
